Join Veselica Slovak Cultural Organization and our community from Thursday, September 12th, to Sunday, September 15th, 2024, for a celebration of faith, culture, and heritage at the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, Patroness of the Slovak Mission in Chicago. This four-day event will be filled with enriching spiritual and cultural experiences, including a special Saturday Gala Program featuring the talented Folk Dance Ensemble Vagonár from Slovakia.

Veselica Slovak Cultural Organization in collaboration with Slovak Mission is honored to present an exciting cultural Slovak folklore showcase from Slovakia by Folk Ensemble Vagonár. On Saturday, September 14th, join us for a spectacular Gala Program where Vagonár will bring the spirit and energy of Slovak folklore to life with their internationally awarded program ‘TA LEN Tak’ and ‘Spis’.
After the Gala Program, we invite you to post-program celebration in a form of “Ludova Veselica” (traditional folk celebration) where guests can meet Vagonar members and performers, participate in a class of the Slovak folk dancing and be entertained by traditional Slovak music orchestra. We invite you to experience the beauty of our heritage and celebrate with us!
Feast Celebration in Slovak Mission
On Sunday, September 15th, the festivities will continue with a vibrant picnic and family-friendly activities. Bring your little ones to enjoy face painting, bounce houses, and games while indulging in traditional Slovak food and refreshments. The afternoon will be filled with cultural performances, including Veselica and Veselička, alongside Slovak band Azyll and DJ Mike. Don’t miss the raffle with valuable prizes!

- 1:00 PM: Picnic in the garden with Slovak food, children’s games, and family activities
- 2:30 PM: Cultural Program with Folk Ensembles Vagonár, Veselica, and Veselička, along with Slovak band Azyll and DJ Mike
- 4:30 PM: Raffle with exciting prizes for adults and children
