Nestled within the tapestry of Chicago’s Slovak community, Veselicka Children’s Ensemble is a part of folklore dance and singing classes and dance workshops for children aged four to 14. Our ensemble is a warm and welcoming hub within the Slovak community in Chicago. Veselicka is proud to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Slovak traditions and culture while helping children learn more about Slovakia, practice the Slovak language, ,and make long-lasting friendships. Our classes are held at the Slovak Academy of Chicago (SAoCH) as part of the Slovak weekend school.
Slovak Academy of Chicago, our partner in this cultural journey, is a center for Slovak language education in the Chicago area. Through collaborative efforts with Slovak Academy of Chicago, Veselicka extends its commitment to not only teaching Slovka folklore dance in Chicago, but also creating a space where families can come together, share experiences, and celebrate their Slovak heritage. As children learn Slovak folk songs and the vibrant steps of Slovak folk dances, they also become part of a larger community that cherishes and passes on the rich culture and traditions of Slovakia.
